2004 - 2005 San Diego Playbill
Fourth Annual Youth "Billie" Awards!

Emily Shackelford and Brian Polk from SDJT's "Seussical." Photo by Ken Jacques.San Diego Playbill is excited to announce the winners of our Third Annual San Diego Playbill Youth "Billie" Awards to honor outstanding work in local youth theatre. For the first year, 17 youth productions were reviewed from 8 different youth theatre companies. This year, 42 youth productions from 20 youth theatres, making the selection process increasingly difficult, as there are so many amazing performances that deserve awards. Thank you all for your incredible work and all the unforgettable entertainment over the past year!

In addition to the youth who performed in the youth theatre companies, any minor (under age 18) who performed at any theatre was also considered for the awards, as well as the adults who participated in the youth theatre productions backstage (directors, set designers, costume designers, etc.).

The winners will be formally presented with their awards at a ceremony honoring their accomplishments on Monday, June 13 at the Garfield Theatre in the Lawrence Family Jewish Community Center located in La Jolla. Home of J*Company for the past several years, they are generously donating the use of their state-of-the-art, 495-seat theatre space, as well as their professional assistance, for this year's festivities as they have for the past two years. This year's adult awards will be announced in early August and held on August 22, 2005.
