‘THE HILLS ARE ALIVE’ AT JUNIOR THEATRE’S SPRING PRODUCTION OF THE SOUND OF MUSIC
Music by Richard Rodgers, Lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, Book by Howard Lindsay and 
Russell Crowe. Directed by Michael Anthony.

BALBOA PARK: A former postulant leaves the convent to become a governess for the seven children of a wealthy, cold Austrian widower. Soon, she teaches the children to the wonders of life and the joy of music, and gains the father’s love. 

“More than a film, The Sound of Music is a cherished memory, filled with laughter, tears, and of course, some of the most memorable music ever written,” said Michael Anthony, director. “I’m thrilled to bring The Sound of Music back to San Diego Junior Theatre audiences after a decade. It will be an uplifting theater experience, the students will successfully appeal to the better side of our natures.” 

The Sound of Music can be seen at the Casa del Prado Theatre in Balboa Park from April 16 – May 2nd. Show times are Fridays at 7 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays at 2 p.m. Admission prices are $7 or $10 for children under 15 and seniors, $9 or $12 for adults.
